A Tough-Luck Opener   Leave a comment

Milwaukee United Soccer Club took the field for the first time last night in a Women’s Premier League match against Racine United Premier.  Some key absences led to a makeshift lineup and despite having a fair amount of possession and scoring opportunities, a couple of defensive lapses did in the side as they fell 5-1.  Captain Bre McDonald (Cardinal Stritch/Port Washington) scored the lone goal for MUSC, with other key performances coming from goalkeeper Kristy Leopold (Southwest Minnesota State/Nicolet), midfielder Ashley Saskowski (St. Norbert/West Allis Hale), midfielder Heidi Hetzel (UW-Oshkosh/Sheboygan South), defender Kaitlin Malliet (St. Norbert/DSHA), and forward Brenda Hernandez (Cardinal Stritch/Whitefish Bay Dominican).

Next Sunday, MUSC will take on Croatian Eagles at Bradley Tech High School in Milwaukee.  Kickoff is 1pm.
